Southwark Labour ConferenceSouthwark Labour Group is campaigning for a fairer future for Southwark.

At the local elections on 6th May this year, local people will offered the choice between a Lib Dem administration which has cut services for our boroughs most vulnerable and a local Labour party which has the vision to sort out our borough's real problems.

Southwark currently has the worst levels of childhood obesity and teenage pregnancy in the country. Your council is the sixth worst recycler in the country and the third least efficient council tax collector in the country. Our borough has the worst housing in London

We believe that we can defuse our borough's childhood obesity timebomb by introducing free school meals. We believe that by getting to grips with teenage pregnancy we can improve the life chances of young people up and down our borough. We believe that by making recycling easier and expanding the number of materials that the council collect we can recycle more. And we believe that by making sure we get everyone to pay their taxes we can keep taxes low.

Southwark Labour is led by Cllr Peter John, Councillor for South Camberwell.
